Samantha
Veterinary Nurse Sam is from Port Campbell, Australia where she grew up living on a dairy farm. In 2012 she graduated from the Box Hill Institute in Melbourne as a Veterinary Nurse. She received an award for outstanding achievement in veterinary nursing from the school for the graduating year. She worked in a mixed animal veterinary practice for nine years before deciding to venture to Canada for both work and travel purposes. Sam has been in Canada since March of 2013 and loves every moment of it. In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding, playing netball, soccer, and caring for animals. She loves being part of the DCVC team. |
Diane
Registered Veterinary Technologist Diane grew up in the Peace Country and has over 30 years experience as a Registered Veterinary Technologist. She has 2 children and has downsized to 2 dogs and 1 cat. For the last 8 years Diane has worked in a more administrative role but since joining our team she has really enjoyed having more hands on with patients. Her passion for behaviour has led her to be an Elite Level certified Fear Free Professional. Her goal is to make every pet’s visit as positive, comfortable and stress free as possible. |
Taylor Registered Veterinary Technologist Taylor was born and raised in Chetwynd, BC where she was always around animals growing up and knew from a very young age she wanted to work with them. Taylor completed the 2 year AHT program in Fairview, AB and completed her practicum in Cranbrook, BC where she ended up living and working for the summer. Although she loved the mountains and Kootenay living, she is now back home in the north at her favorite clinic with her favorite people, where she can still enjoy doing the things she loves, which includes hiking, snowboarding and many other outdoor activities. |
Amy
Registered Veterinary Technologist Amy is originally from by Valleyview, Ab and grew up on a beef cattle farm. After graduating high school she spent 2 years in Saskatoon before deciding to go to Tech school at Lakeland College in Vermillion, Ab. Amy spent the summer of 2019 working at the clinic and asked to come work full time after graduating. In her spare time she enjoys baking & taking care of her many plants. Amy has a horse named Clyde whom she enjoys riding and checking the cattle with back home and a cat named Creamy, who has a wild side. Amy is excited to be living here in Dawson Creek and getting to know the community. |
Shawna
Registered Veterinary Technologist Shawna was born and raised in Tomslake, BC, where she grew up on a farm with a wide variety of animals my. During Elementary, Middle and High School she was a member of the Tate Creek Variety 4-H club with both horse and cattle. Shawna’s Aunt was a veterinarian, and she remember thinking “that’s what I want to do when I grow up” whenever she would watch her Aunt work. Shawna graduated from the Animal Health program at NAIT Fairview campus in 2009 and has been working as an RVT ever since, in between starting a family with her husband Jesse. Shawna and Jesse have 3 children and a farm with a handful of horses, chickens, some bottle calves, 3 cats, 3 dogs, a mini pony and a mini donkey. |
Ellen
Registered Veterinary Technologist Ellen grew up in Sundre, Alberta, with all sorts of animals. Ellen graduated from Fairview’s Animal Health Technology program in 2020. Then, after completing her practicum in Stettler AB, Ellen decided to move back up north to work at the Dawson Creek Vet Clinic. In her spare time Ellen likes to snowboard, hike, and paint. |
Chantelle
Registered Veterinary Technologist Chantelle was born and raised in Dawson Creek, BC. Chantelle started at the Dawson Creek Vet Clinic as a veterinary assistant in 2007, and then graduated the RVT program from GPRC (Fairview College Campus) in 2012. In her spare time Chantelle enjoys several outdoor activities such has camping, fishing, hiking and horseback riding. Chantelle has a special interest in small animal dentistry and is looking forward to working with you and your fur babies in the future |
Samantha
Registered Veterinary Technolgist Samantha was born and raised in Dawson Creek. Her first job was here at Dawson Creek Veterinary Clinic as a boarding attendant and from then on she knew that she wanted to be a technologist. She worked at the Fairview Veterinary Clinic as a Veterinary Technologist Assistant while attending the Animal Health Technology program at Northwestern Polytechnic in Fairview AB. She graduated from the program in 2023 and completed her practicum at the Fairview Veterinary Clinic. She then decided to move back home to work at her dream clinic here at Dawson Creek Veterinary Clinic. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her dogs and cats whether it’s out for a hike, or just snuggling on the couch. |
Makayla
Registered Veterinary Technologist Makayla grew up in a small town called Irvine in southeastern Alberta and graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Lakeland college in 2024. She has always been involved in the agriculture industry and have been an animal enthusiast from the beginning. Makayla has had every animal in between birds and sheep, but her dogs and horses have to be her favorite's. In her spare time Makayla can be found at various jackpots and rodeos and always on the back of one of her horses with a dog trailing not too far behind |
