Gabby
Veterinary Assistant Gabby was born in Dawson Creek and raised on a farm in Groundbirch BC. She enjoys barrel racing and chasing cows, camping, quading and hunting. While Gabby works in both our large and small animal departments, she really loves working in the large animal side of things at the clinic, learning as much as she can about horse health. She is excited to be working at the clinic, meeting new people and learning new things. |
Lindsay
Veterinary Assistant Lindsay was born Kamloops B.C but moved to Dawson Creek at a very young age. She has always loved all animals. She grew up on her family hobby farm with horses, goats, dogs and cats. Lindsay loves the outdoors and enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking and horseback riding. She was previously working as a Vet assistant at the DC vet clinic for 4 years and after taking a short break to work on her husband’s family farm, has now returned to work at the clinic and is enjoying it. |
Meagan
Veterinary Assistant Meagan grew up in Whitecourt, Alberta. She has had animals for as long as she can remember. Meagan grew up in town, so always had small animals, but loved horses and spent many summers and spring breaks on a family friend’s cattle ranch riding horses and rounding up cows. She moved up north several years ago and started her own little funny farm with chickens, goats, horses, sheep as well as 2 dogs and 3 cats. Meagan’s favorite part of working at the clinic is that she never stops learning and every day is so different and exciting in its own way, with some of the best teachers and coworkers! Meagan plans on completing RVT training through Thompson River University in the next few years. |
Kassidy
Veterinary Assistant Kassidy is a Dawson Creek native. She has recently moved back after 5 years of living in the Okanagan. Passionate about animal care and welfare, she's been employed in the animal field for the past 6 years working in rescue with the SPCA, attending to cats and dogs in a boarding facility, and caring for patients as a veterinary assistant. Currently she is working towards becoming a veterinary technician and making a difference in the lives of animals. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, and exploring the outdoors with her pup, Sybil. |
Raea
Veterinary Assistant Raea was born and raised in Dawson Creek. In her free time she is full time dedicated to her horses with rodeo and barrel racing. She loves travelling and seeing all the different cultures and climates at different rodeos…. But maybe a real vacation would be something she'd be interested in for the future. |
Shelby
Veterinary Assistant Shelby grew up in Fourth Creek, AB on a mixed farming operation with cattle, sheep, horses, dogs, cats, and many other pets. She participated in the local 4-H program for 9 years taking both sheep and beef projects as well as campaigning her family's cattle at local open shows. In 2023 she convocated from the U of S with her B.S.A. Major in Animal Science, with Great Distinction, and hopes to one day become a large animal or mixed practice veterinarian. Although she greatly enjoys working as both a small and large animal veterinary assistant, her primary interest lies in large animal medicine (specifically cattle and sheep). She enjoyed watching her mom use her RVT skills on the farm, but the main draw to working in veterinary medicine comes from her lifelong desire to help make all animals feel okay and improve welfare at a price that is economically feasible for owners/producers. |
Megan
Veterinary Assistant Megan was born and raised in Quesnel BC where she lived on a small farm and participated in her local 4-H program. After relocating to the Peace Region a few years ago, she has been able to turn her love for animals into a career at the DCVC. Outside of work, Megan can be found with her horses at local events or lending a hand at cattle drives and brandings. If you can’t find her there, then she’s most likely on an adventure with her family which could include camping, sheep hunting, ocean fishing and so much more! |
Alissha
